
OnePlus is among those brands that have participated in Android 15 testing to release beta users for select devices. Last month, the brand released the first Android 15 beta for the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open, and now the second beta has arrived.

These beta builds allow people to get an early taste of the new OS before the official release. However, OnePlus recommends it is “best suited for developers and other advanced users” as the process involves flashing the ROM.

The beta 2 for the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open doesn’t bring new features. It resolves many bugs that were found in the first beta.
The latest beta improves system stability and performance and fixes issues related to the Auto Pixelate function, split-screen, Bluetooth compatibility, Multi-Screen Connect function, Personal hotspot, camera, Smart Image Matting, and compatibility issues with some third-party apps.

Improves system stability and performance.
Fixes an issue that the Auto Pixlate function fails during screenshot preview.
Fixes some issues in the split-screen model on the main screen. (OnePlus Open ONLY)

Fixes Bluetooth compatibility issues in specific scenarios.
Fixes some problems that the Multi-Screen Connect function is abnormal when connecting with a PC or PAD.
Fixes an issue that the Personal hotspot may not be able to open after modifying the security settings.

Fixes some functional issues of the camera in specific scenarios.
Fixes the issue of the Smart Image Matting function failure in certain scenarios.

Fixes compatibility issues with some third-party apps.
OnePlus has also highlighted some known issues that are still present in the latest beta build. These are related to the system interface, air gesture, camera freeze, and wallpapers.
Known Issues:
[OnePlus 12]
When playing music, pull down the control center and click the media output button of the media player panel, the system interface stops running.
Air gesture cannot be turned off after it is turned on.
The camera may freeze when switching to HI-RES mode when taking photos.
When setting the icon style in the Wallpapers & style, switching failed between Aquamorphic icons and custom icons.
There are probabilistic stability issues in certain scenarios.
[OnePlus Open]
Recent task card do not disappear after splitting the screen in certain scenarios.
The photo does not show the ProXDR button after taking a photo in specific scenarios.
The booting animation interface on the external screen is incomplete.
After opening the floating window on the desktop, the taskbar displays abnormally when switching between the main screen and the outer screen.

How to Install Android 15 Beta 2 on OnePlus Phones
First, download the correct beta 2 build using the following links:

Now, follow these steps to upgrade to install the second beta:
[For NA only]
This method only applies to OnePlus phones in the NA region.
Step 1: Copy the downloaded update package to the phone storage.
Step 2: Download this APK and install it.
Step 3: Open the app > tap the gear icon > choose the update package and install it.
Step 4: Click Restart.
[For IN & EU]
Step 1: Copy the downloaded update package to the phone storage.
Step 2: Go to Settings -> About device -> Version -> Click Build number 7 times and enter the password. It enables the developer mode.
Step 3: Go back to Settings -> About device -> Up to date -> Click the top right button -> Local install.
Step 4: Now, choose the correct update package, tap Extract and click Upgrade.
Step 5: Click Restart.
