Samsung has the best software update policy among Android smartphone brands, and it continues to work to broaden the gap with other brands by offering longer software support. The brand is already offering 7 OS updates to newer flagship phones — the best update policy on any device — and now is a good time for upcoming entry-level phones, at least for the Galaxy A16 5G.

The latest information for the Galaxy A16 5G is shockingly good. Samsung will offer six major OS updates and six years of security patches to this device, as per leaked promo materials shared by TheTechOutlook.
Most entry-level phones only receive up to two Android updates. Hence, this move from Samsung will be greatly appreciated by Galaxy users and will also push other brands to offer extended updates to their low-end devices.

Samsung might release the Galaxy A16 5G by the end of this month. The latest leak reveals that it’ll have a 6.7-inch Infinity-U display with a 1080 x 2340 pixels FullHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate support. It has an IP64 rating and a peak brightness of 800 nits.
There’ll be two versions of Galaxy A16 5G: one with an Exynos 1330 and another with a Dimensity 6300. As per the leak, the Dimensity variant will come to India. The device could come in four storage options: 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB.
