But when will Samsung Galaxy owners have a chance to install One UI 7? Well, we now have some information on the release timeline.
According to a reliable leaker, Ice Universe, Samsung will start the One UI 7 beta program at the end of July or early August. The South Korean giant will stick to this timeline if there are no last-minute changes or any issues with the software, as happened with One UI 6, causing a delay in the beta rollout by a few weeks.
For the last few years, Samsung has followed the same beta release timeline. However, One UI 6 beta was delayed the previous year due to software problems. Hopefully, that won’t happen again, and we may receive a timely beta update.
Before the One UI 7 beta program goes live, Samsung should make an official announcement highlighting all changes and new features. The 2024 flagships — Galaxy S24 series — will be the first phones to get One UI 7 beta, and then it will expand to more and more Galaxy devices.
According to leaks, Samsung will split the notification pane in One UI 7 into two sections: notifications and quick settings. You may have seen it already on Xiaomi phones running HyperOS. The One UI 7 skin may also get new icons, smoother animations, and more rounded lock screen widgets, among many changes.
Samsung is also working on bringing satellite connectivity to Galaxy phones. This feature could arrive as a part of One UI 7. Rumors are that One UI 7 will also include a vertical app drawer. Don’t forget that there will be many new features as a part of Android 15.
One UI 7, based on Android 15, seems an exciting upgrade, and I can’t wait to test it out. What are your expectations with One UI 7? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
