One UI 7 makes Galaxy devices safer for children

Samsung’s One UI 7 brings a fresh set of parental control features that enhance safety and control for families. Initially available on the Galaxy S25 series, these features allow parents to manage and restrict content their children can access through Samsung Internet and Galaxy Store. As One UI 7 rolls out to more devices, these new tools aim to make the Galaxy ecosystem safer for young users.

One UI 7 offers enhanced parental controls under Settings > Digital Wellbeing and Parental Controls. These controls allow parents to filter content and set age-based restrictions for apps and websites. Parents can block websites containing sexually explicit or violent content. While the filter might not catch every inappropriate site, it effectively blocks obvious harmful content, providing an added layer of online safety.

As spotted by Android Authority, the maximum rating feature lets parents limit apps and games downloads from the Galaxy Store based on their child’s age. The available options are “All ages”, “12+”, “16+”, “18+”, and “Based on age in Samsung account”. Devices set up for a child’s Samsung account may also require parental approval for downloading or purchasing apps. This ensures children can only access content appropriate for their age group.

Currently, these parental control features are only available on Galaxy S25 devices in select markets. Notably, units sold in India lack the Content Restrictions page within Digital Wellbeing, as Samsung tends to roll out features regionally. However, there’s hope that these tools will expand to more markets as the One UI 7 update reaches other devices later this month.

Samsung’s One UI 7 parental controls offer a much-needed upgrade for families, giving parents better control over what their children see and do on Galaxy devices. Although availability is currently limited, the upcoming expansion of One UI 7 will likely bring these helpful features to more users.
