One UI 7 Update Isn’t Coming This Year

2024, so far, has been an unusual year regarding the latest Android release, Android 15. Just recently, Vivo surprised us with a quick release of Android 15 to some of its devices, while Google Pixels are still in the queue. Now, Samsung has announced One UI 7, and its release timeline may be disappointing for many.

At the Samsung Developers Conference 2024 in San Jose, the Korean tech giant announced that One UI 7 will debut alongside the Galaxy S25 series (most likely in January 2024), and then it’ll expand to older Galaxy devices. The One UI 7 beta is coming before the end of this year, though.

  • One UI 4.0 (Android 12): November 2021
  • One UI 5.0 (Android 13): October 2022
  • One UI 6.0 (Android 14): October 2023

Samsung has been one of the fastest smartphone brands to release new updates based on the latest version of Android, but this time, you’ll need a bit of patience for the Android 15-based One UI 7 upgrade.

One UI 7 is going to be one of the biggest releases in recent years. While the brand hasn’t revealed much about the upcoming software, it says One UI 7 has been designed to understand what the user is trying to do and minimise the complexity. There’s a new blur system that aims to improve user satisfaction.
