When Will OnePlus Start Rolling Out OxygenOS 15?

Android 15 development is in full swing, as multiple beta builds are already, the latest being Beta 2.2. Google will release more such beta builds to add new features, refine existing ones, and remove bugs.

The beta phase should last until July. Around the same time, the new OS enters the platform stability phase for final adjustments ahead of the stable release.

Android 15 timeline is similar to last year’s Android 14 release. So, if everything goes the same way, the new OS will be publicly available in October. And if OnePlus follows last year’s rollout pattern, the first device will get the update in November, which will be OnePlus 12.

OnePlus is already ahead of most Android manufacturers as they have already released the Android 15 beta. As of right now, it’s available for OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open. OnePlus should make it available to more models in the coming weeks and months.

Android 15: What to Expect?

OnePlus will bring many features and improvements from Android 15, and the rest from the OxygenOS 15.

The new OS brings satellite connectivity support for SMS, MMS, as well as pre-installed RCS apps, but it might not come to all existing phones due to hardware limitations.

There’s also a Private Space to keep your super secret apps and files under an additional security layer. The new OS also has Theft Detection Lock that automatically locks down the screen when someone runs away with your phone. This feature also prevents the device from setting it up with another Google account.

Android 15 also brings app pairs to save your favorite app pairs to quickly launch them in the split-screen mode. This feature will come to large screen devices, such as tablets.

Among the new features and enhancements in Android 15 also includes Notification cooldown, edge-to-edge apps, partial screen sharing, high-quality webcam, and app archiving.
