What’s New in One UI 6.1.1?
From communications and productivity to creativity, the One UI 6.1.1 has at least one AI feature to make things easy for you. Here’s a quick recap of those features:
- Interpreter: It lets users communicate with someone in another language. It also offers a Listening Mode for one-way translation. This feature will now be available on all expanded devices.
- Chat Assist: Let users quickly draft emails, social media posts, and more using Composer, which takes a few keywords as inputs and generates a full text using Galaxy AI.
- Suggested replies: It offers quick replies from the watch when connected to Galaxy Watch 7 or Galaxy Watch Ultra. It’s already available on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and will now expand to the Galaxy S24 series.
- Note Assist: It lets users translate and summarise notes in a single click. The newly added transcript feature can quickly create notes based on voice recordings.
- PDF Overlay Translation: This Galaxy AI feature can translate and overlay text in PDF files or even translate texts in images and graphs.
- Sketch to Image: Start with a simple drawing, choose your style, and let Galaxy AI transform it into a captivating work of art.
- Circle to Search: Circle anything on your screen for instant Google Search results. Now, it also offers step-by-step instructions for solving complex math problems. And there’s also a new Sound Search feature.
- Portrait Studio: It lets users create in a variety of styles, such as 3D cartoon or watercolor.
- Instant Slow-mo: This feature can seamlessly convert a video into slow motion while maintaining smooth image quality.
Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1 Rollout Plan
The One UI 6.1.1 update is already rolling out in Korea for the Galaxy S24 series. However, the rollout will begin in the US and Europe starting September 9.
Samsung hasn’t provided the exact release date for other regions. Neither has it revealed a release timeline for the remaining models. The company only says, “will be available in the coming weeks.”
