Samsung has been following the same pattern in terms of chip availability — Exynos for the regular and plus models (for the majority of the world) and Snapdragon for the Ultra model. However, that’s likely to change with the upcoming Galaxy S25 series.

According to a reliable Samsung tipster, Ice Universe, all Galaxy S25 models will get the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This is the most powerful chip for Android phones, bringing significant upgrades over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
While the tipster hasn’t detailed why Samsung is ditching the Exynos chip for the Galaxy S25 series, reports believe that Samsung’s yields for the 3nm Exynos 2500 chip are lower-than-expected that it won’t be sufficient to ship millions of devices worldwide.
Samsung reportedly failing to mass produce Exynos 2500 chips could be a result of workers’ protest. While it’s not good news for the brand, Galaxy S25 buyers would be happy.
The Galaxy S25 series is expected to be launched in January 2025. It will be the first device to ship with One UI 7 software, which is said to be the biggest improvement in the history of Samsung’s software.
