Vivo has surprised the tech community by rolling out the stable Android 15 update ahead of both Google and Samsung. Usually, either Google or Samsung leads the initial rollout of Android updates, but Vivo has had a different plan this year.

The Chinese brand has scheduled the release of Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15, for September 30. However, some Vivo users have already started receiving the stable Android 15 update. The update is currently rolling out to the Vivo X100 series, Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, and iQOO 12.
This move from Vivo is quite surprising, as Google, the company that builds Android, is still unable to roll out the stable update to its eligible Pixel devices. The company hasn’t even revealed a release date, although leaks say it’s October 15.
Samsung is also silent on the Android 15 release date, which will come with the One UI 7 skin at the top. In fact, the brand recently revealed that it still hasn’t made a decision regarding the One UI 7 release date. However, Samsung has just released a new update to the Samsung Members app, pointing to the imminent release of the One UI 7 beta update.
It will be interesting to see if more Android brands join this trend in the future, or if Google and Samsung will reclaim their usual spots to be at the forefront of the latest Android releases. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below.
